AGV Application Technology - Encoder
Automatic control operation of the device. The encoder is such a sensor that converts these physical quantity information into electrical signals through the photoelectric effect or the principle of magnetic effect, and transmits it to the AGV control system. Due to its high conversion accuracy, real-time response, and simple installation and connection, the encoder is selected. It is ideal for connecting mechanical components and AGV electronic control systems. Depending on the application principle, AGV encoders can be divided into photoelectric encoders and magnetic encoders. They embody their different advantages and characteristics in many applications:
Optical encoders are highly accurate and highly resistant to interference and can be used in a wide range of industries.
Due to its working principle, the magnetic encoder has a very high degree of protection, up to IP96K, and it has high impact resistance and vibration resistance in a harsh mechanical environment.
Fiber optic encoders use lasers and phototransistors to generate output codes, often used in explosion-proof applications with extremely flammable gases
Capacitance encoders generate output codes by detecting changes in capacitance using high-frequency reference signals. Capacitance encoders are not recommended for explosion-proof applications, but because of proprietary capacitive technology, they can withstand environmental factors similar to magnetic encoders, and usually Better than optical encoders.
